I think we can safely say we have officially entered Halloween season. Dark foggy mornings, endless drizzle and warm cosy jumpers and scarves at the ready. As half term fast approaches I am starting to think about fun activities to do with the kids and pumpkin picking and carving is an obvious choice, with the... Continue Reading →
As a mum it can often be hard to find the time to really focus on you and what you want to achieve in life other than raising happy children. For the last two year I had been content with being a stay at home mum with plenty to keep my occupied with two under... Continue Reading →
It’s been a crazy few weeks preparing for start of the new term and getting back to a routine after summer, but in-between all the madness I had the pleasure of speaking with Hampshire Mum Laura who writes an incredible blog called Dear Bear and Beany. I am sure many of you will have come... Continue Reading →
I was extremely fortunate enough to be introduced to local Berkshire based lifestyle and mummy blogger, Georgie who runs minis and MORE . She is a real inspiration as not only is she a mother of two (with another on the way) she has built up a rather successful blog and social media following. I wanted... Continue Reading →
We missed this event but there is nothing quite like good old honest traditional fun and duck racing is just that! This local Hampshire event sounded like a great day out with kids.
Dear Mummy, we took our rubber ducks out of the bath water and into the River Test for the annual Duck Race in Overton, Hampshire. The “Great Overton Duck Race” is run to raise funds for St Mary’s Hall.
It began as a one-off event, but has since become something of an annual occurrence, raising in excess of £12,000 for the hall’s facilities so far. A whole day of sitting and playing down by the river on the bank holiday sounds like a very relaxing activity. It was also a special day as it was my mummy’s birthday.
We set off early to find a clearing by the side of the bank to lay out our picnic blanket and camping chairs. In our eagerness we were the first family there and watched the organisers time trial the ducks on the water. I also took the opportunity to road test…well water test…

This is one of my favourite blogs and I love the simple home decorating ideas. Hope you enjoy.
This year we’ve seen some amazing interiors trends, from my absolute favourite colour, blush pink (I promise I liked it before it became known as ‘millennial pink’!) to copper, and tropical prints for days (I’m looking at you, pineapples, palm leaves and flamingos!). But now we’re sneaking into autumn, the trends are changing, and I wanted to know what’s going to be big in the months ahead.
I dropped into Brighton’s independent interiors boutique Abode Living in my lunch break to meet owners Lynda and Phillipa and find out more about what we can expect to see on our walls, floors, sofas and tables in the coming months, and with their help, I’ve identified five key trends for you to bring into your own home.
1. Must-have mustard
Lynda and Phillipa have noticed a surge in the number of people looking for mustard, ochre and terracotta homeware, especially soft furnishings…

I had the pleasure of spending a morning with local Newbury mummy, Rebecca who has two boisterous 2 boys (aged1 and 3) and is going to be undertaking an incredible challenge later this year to raise funds for Coppafeel! I was so inspired by her story I asked her if I could share it with... Continue Reading →
I read an article recently saying we’d be happier paying to outsource jobs rather than buying things. If I could pay for someone to pick up after my children, cook our meals, vacuum, wipe down the high chair, change nappies etc etc I WOULD!! I love being a mummy but being a housewife is not so great!
I am a housewife, SAHM, whatever you want to call me. I’ve written a lot about how grateful I am to my husband that we can afford for me to be available to my family whenever they need me. If you want to read more about my life as a SAHM, you can read my guest post on The Tale Of Mummyhood: Mum Is Best series.
Just in case though: “Thank you my love, I’m very grateful, as I’m sure are you.”
Also, just in case … yes, I realise that working moms do all this AND going to work. Well done you guys! I’m actually jealous! I’d love to get away from all those tasks and do something with my day that actually feels meaningful and appreciated whilst also contributing financially to my family. You guys rock!
